Despite to that Payola is suppose to be in against the law reality is like this. Every major Record Label have their so call Record Promoters. And they do give to their R.P. a lot of money and they do tell them - be creative ! And do believe you me they are. Our teacher for Music Business & Broadcasting at BCIT did tell us this following story. ( our teacher was Program Director for one of our Vancouver major Radio Stations )

I did come one time Monday morning to work and I did found out that I had a dozen red roses in the vase sitting on my office desk one dozen of red roses. Well I had no idea for what reason I did received this gift and begun to look for some card or other explanation. But there were non those roses were send to me anonymously just as they were. Well to my surprise I came to work Tuesday morning and what do you know ? I had waiting for me another dozen of red roses. And so I did take those from day before and placed them on to the desk of our receptionist. After that I did get new roses on Wednesday Thursday and only on Friday with my new roses I did found with them brand new CD what was released by o ne well known Recording Artist from Montreal.
